Wednesday

Research project

I've been reading more to get more depth on my research topic cause I'm really struggling to find a question. I looked into how colours make you feel by reading a journal about an experiment tested on university students which has given me some inspiration. I also looked at the Technoetic journals following on from Simon's lecture on the research project. I found some really interesting articles regarding projects which experiment with perception and interaction and I'm going to read more into those tomorrow. I really want to create some visuals for my project which can be used in club environments, looking at people currently doing this like Kenzo Digital and Ali Demirel, amongst others.

Sunday

Kanye West - All of the lights

Directed by Hype Williams
I'm undecided on wether I like this or not... sadly leaning towards not

Thursday

Kanye West - Monster

Director: Jake Nava (seriously impressive back catalogue, can't believe I only heard of him today)

Wouldn't expect anything less from Kanye, it leaked today unofficially, and is unfinished. (I'm assuming that's why there's getty images watermarks throughout). Can't wait for the full version.

Wednesday

Kanye West - Street Lights video

I never knew there was a video for this song. 808s and heartbreaks is definitely my favourite Kanye West album, reminds me of wet winter days. And this video has just ruined that image. What a waste of money, they could have done sooo much more with this. You would think with West being known for having an input on his whole creative direction he would be the first to say this so don't know how this slipped through, how disappointing!

Sunday

More inspiration, pixilation

This illustration was created by Kaws, -------------- i'll write about him later

I really want my stop motion to have a feel like this, with the bright colours and background interacting with a person, I love the back image where it looks as if the lines are wrapping around West and might try to recreate this using paper or material as part of my stop motion :)

Saturday

While I'm at it, more research..

ANOTHER post, of a music video. This ones for Kanye West, Welcome to heartbreak.. The video was directed by Nabil Elderkin who is also a photographer, and uses an effect called photomoshing or datamoshing, which gives a unique, analogue effect, this video is definately my favourite of this year just for the mood of it.. :)

+++++++++ also.. some work from my last college project, which was inspired by this music video. Love this piece so much its up there as one of my favourite works from college.
